GeoSelect Product Suite Version 3.0.0.0

NOTE: It is recommended that all users that are currently running an old version of GeoSelect upgrade to GeoSelect V3. GeoSelect V3 contains an new installer and uninstaller to help reduce problems with installation, and GeoSelect V3 also now supports IIS 6.0 for production environments. GeoSelect V3 requires IIS 6.0 to run in "IIS 5.0 Isolation Mode" which can be automatically configured during installation. If you require support upgrading to GeoSelect V3 please post to the Geobytes forums at http://forums.geobytes.com

** BUG: Fixed problem in GeoSelect.dll auto update facility. **
During times of internet connection congestion, GeoSelect's map and component updates were sometimes un-reliable.

GeoSelects' GeoServer Version 2.1.0.0

** ADD: Support for new radius parameter in <geoif> tag. **
New radius parameter allows you to specify a radius when targeting content using GCML (Geographic Content Markup Language) tags.

Example:
<geoselect>
  <geoif location="usilchic –r 100mi">
    <p>Content for Chicago and the surrounding cities
    within 100 miles would go here</p>
  </geoif>
</geoselect>

For more information on the radius parameter please see "GCML Tags and Parameters" section in the GeoSelectUserGuide.doc, or click here to download the guide.

GeoSelects' GeoServer Version 2.0.2.0

** ADD: Support for mapping of internal address space to geographic location. **
To map an internal address to a geographic location, or to over-ride GeoSelect's location for a given subnet, add an entry to the localsubnets.txt in the Geobytes directory. The format of the entry is
"SubnetAddress","Certainty","CityId","RegionId","CountryId","DmaId"
but need only contain the SubnetAddress, Certainty, and CityId columns. The supplied file contains skeleton entries which can be used as a template.

** ADD: Support for CountryTitle variable in Geobytes headers and tags. **
Support for a new location descriptor called CountryTitle has been added to both the Geobytes Headers and Geobytes Tags. CountryTitle contains the Title (or Name) of the country in a form that is grammatically correct when used in a sentence. For example: The official country name for the United Kingdom, according to FIPS 10 Digraph Codes - short name ( ref: http://www.nima.mil/gns/html/fips_10_digraphs.html ) is "United Kingdom", while the grammatically correct usage within a sentence is "The United Kingdom". Another example is "The United States". CountryTitle has been added to over come this grammatical anomaly in country names.

** ADD: Inclusion of test.html in distribution package. **
To assist with the installation, testing, and user familiarization of GeoSelect, a file called test.html has added to the distribution package. An administrator can copy the test.html file to a web site hosted on the GeoSelect server to verify the correct operation of the new installation, and to perform simple diagnostics. For example the test file will enumerate the contents of Geobytes Content Localization Tags. The test.html file can also be used as a training and familiarization aid, as it demonstrates many of the features of GeoSelect, including the Geobytes Location Bar and Geobytes Content Localization Tags - <geoselect>, <geoif>, and <geobytes xxx>.

** BUG: Fixed incorrect parsing of URL in LocationBar.txt **
The "Location Bar" is used to over-ride GeoSelect's geographic IP Address resolution function. It is primarily used for debugging and demonstrating how localized pages appear when viewed from different locations. The Location Bar utilizes GeoSelect "&geobyteslocation=" over-ride facility to communicate location information to GeoSelect with each request. A bug was found and resolved in the client side JavaScript that renders the location bar on the page. The bug affected the way that the "&geobyteslocation=" over-ride was being appended to the URL causing it to fail on certain URL formations.
